Getting Started

How do I create an account?

Creating an account is simple:

  1. Download the NirvanaStory app or visit our web app
  2. Tap "Sign Up" or "Start Free"
  3. Choose your sign-up method: Email, Google, or Apple
  4. Verify your email address
  5. Start listening!
What devices can I use NirvanaStory on?

NirvanaStory works on:

  • iOS: iPhone and iPad (iOS 13+)
  • Android: Phones and tablets (Android 8+)
  • Web: Any modern browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge)
  • CarPlay / Android Auto: Available in supported vehicles
Is there a free version?

Yes! About 5% of our story library is available for free. You can browse and listen to free stories without an account. To access the full library of 100+ stories, you'll need a subscription, but you can try it free for 10 days.

How does the free trial work?

Our free trial gives you full access to all features for 10 days:

  • Unlimited access to all stories
  • Offline downloads
  • Sleep timer and all playback features

A payment method is required to start the trial, but you won't be charged until the trial ends. You can cancel anytime during the trial period at no cost.

Playback

How do I use the sleep timer?

The sleep timer lets you fall asleep to stories without playback continuing all night.

  1. Start playing any story
  2. Tap the timer icon in the player controls
  3. Choose your duration: 10, 15, 30, 45, 60, 90, or 120 minutes
  4. Or select "End of this story" to stop after the current story

Enable "Fade out volume" to gradually lower the volume over the last 30 seconds instead of stopping abruptly.

Can I adjust the playback speed?

Yes! You can adjust playback speed from 0.5x to 3x. Tap the speed indicator in the player controls to cycle through options: 0.5x, 0.75x, 1x, 1.25x, 1.5x, 2x, and 3x.

Will my progress be saved if I close the app?

Yes. NirvanaStory automatically saves your listening progress. When you return, you'll see a "Continue where you left off" option. Progress syncs across all your devices when you're signed in.

Can I listen in the background?

Yes! Stories continue playing when you switch to other apps, lock your phone, or turn off the screen. Use your device's lock screen or notification controls to pause, play, skip, or seek.

Subscription & Billing

What subscription plans are available?
  • Monthly: $9.99/month
  • Yearly: $64.99/year (save 45%)

All plans include a 10-day free trial. Cancel anytime with no hidden fees.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel at any time:

  • Web/Stripe: Go to Settings → Subscription → Cancel
  • iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → NirvanaStory → Cancel
  • Android: Play Store → Subscriptions → NirvanaStory → Cancel

After canceling, you'll retain access until the end of your current billing period. Downloaded stories will remain on your device but won't be playable.

Can I get a refund?

Refund policies depend on your payment platform:

  • Web (Stripe): Contact us at support within 14 days of charge
  • iOS: Request through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com
  • Android: Request through Google Play Store

Troubleshooting

Audio is stuttering or not loading

If you're experiencing playback issues:

  1. Check your internet connection
  2. Close and reopen the app
  3. Clear the app cache (Settings → Storage)
  4. Update to the latest app version
  5. Try downloading the story for offline playback (Premium)

If issues persist, contact support.

I can't sign in to my account

Try these steps:

  1. Make sure you're using the same sign-in method (Email, Google, or Apple) that you used to create your account
  2. Check your email for a verification link if you just signed up
  3. Use "Forgot Password" to reset your password
  4. Clear the app cache and try again
Downloads aren't working
  • Make sure you have an active Premium subscription
  • Check that you have enough storage space on your device
  • Ensure you're connected to the internet when starting a download
  • Try removing the download and re-downloading
How do I delete my account?

To delete your account:

  1. Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account
  2. Confirm your request
  3. Your account will be scheduled for deletion within 30 days
